Roman Cechmanek

Roman Cechmanek

Another EBay purchase. Only playing in 163 games for the Flyers, Good Ol' Roman Cechmanek. He was one of my favorites. (for no particular reason) Cechmanek was probably most famous for a glove mishap in Toronto. Cechmanek lost his glove while playing the puck behind his net. when a teammate passed the glove over to Cechmanek, he looked down to put his glove back on, while at the same time, a shot by Robert Reichel whizzed right past Cechmanek's head, and into the net. A huge blunder in the first round of the 2003 playoffs. This card doesn't necessarily help me out, for the Flyers Number Project, as I already have Riley Cote for 32, but I've wanted a Cechmanek card for a while and I'm glad I have it.

Luke Richardson

Luke Richardson

SENT: UNKNOWN
RECEIVED: 10-30-14

The date sent, was unmarked in my log book, but a little while back I received these two cards from former Flyers defenseman, Luke Richardson. Mr. Richardson is currently the head coach of the Binghamton Senators. During his first season as head coach, Richardson, impressively led an inexperienced Senators team to a 44-24-1-7 record, finishing fourth in the AHL's Eastern Conference. He was ultimately named coach of the AHL Eastern Conference all-star team in 2012-13.

Richardson signed my:
91-92 SCORE

SENT: 7-12-14
RECEIVED: 11-3-14

Today I was excited to see an envelope with P. Hornqvist in the corner. But I was disappointed when I opened it. I sent Mr. Hornqvist two cards, but sadly I only received one. He kept the other! But I can't be too upset. I'm still pumped to get this one back. Mr. Hornqvist was traded on June 27, 2014, to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for forward James Neal. Mr. Hornqvist graciously signed my card with a BLACK Sharpie.

Hornqvist signed my:
11-12 SCORE

SENT: 10-28-14
RECEIVED: 10-31-14

A 3 DAY TURNAROUND! I love when that happens. Yesterday I received two cards signed by former Flyers great, Rick MacLeish. Mr. MacLeish generously signed both my cards in BLUE Sharpie. In the 1972-73 Season, MacLeish, became the first member of the Flyers to ever score fifty goals in a single season, and the eighth player in NHL history. In the 1973-74 Stanley Cup Playoffs, MacLeish scored the only goal in the series' sixth and final game against the Boston Bruins.

Flyers Halloween 5K

Flyers Halloween 5K.

On October 25, The Philadelphia Flyers held their annual Halloween charity 5K. Some of the runners, included Hockey Hall Of  Famer, Bernie Parent. Mr. Parent ran the whole 5K despite being 69 years of age. Another runner included Todd Fedoruk. Mr. Fedoruk also ran the entire race. Bob "The Hound" Kelly also made an appearance although he didn't run. After the race all three former Flyers hung out for a bit. I managed to get them all to sign a card,  and take a photo with me.
